ISLAND 92 CELEBRATES 10th ANNIVERSARY WITH FREE CONCERT FEATURING ORANGE GROVE

ST. MAARTEN, DUTCH WEST INDIES – May 29, 2012 – Island 92 Radio announced, the celebration of its 10 year anniversary with a special free concert featuring world-renowned Dutch recording artist Orange Grove. The concert will take place on June 16th at 8 PM on the plaza at Porto Cupecoy. The concert will mark Island 92 Radio’s 10th year on the air on St. Maarten, bringing the best rock, blues and good time music to the listeners of the Northeast Caribbean and via www.island92.com streaming to listeners in over 50 countries around the world. Island 92’s Co-sponsors for the concert include: UTS/Chippie, Coors Light/Caribbean Liquors & Tobacco, Porto Cupecoy, U- SAVE Car Rental, Roma Models/Roma Designz and Century 21 Island Realty.
Opening for Orange Grove will be the New Status Generation STM Drum Band along with locally renowned saxophonist, Connis Vanterpool with his band “Connis and Friends. To help everyone have a good time, each adult guest at the concert will receive a free Coors Light.
Soc (Jeffrey Sochrin) of Island 92 stated, “We are so excited to celebrate 10 years on the airwaves of St. Maarten, and the best way we could think of to thank our listeners, friends and sponsors is to host an amazing free concert with our own favorites, Orange Grove. We really wanted to bring an artistic act that reflected our music and the island, so it wasn’t even a thought – it had to be Orange Grove. They have spent so much time here on St. Maarten, much of it at the Island 92 studios by the way, that we have sort of adopted them. We made the call to them and they were ecstatic, they loved the idea of a big concert at Porto Cupecoy to celebrate our anniversary”.”
Michael Maidwell, lead singer of Orange Grove noted, “Well it’s an honor to be invited as the headline act for Island 92’s 10th anniversary party in St. Maarten. We have played throughout the Caribbean and all over the world, but to be back on St. Maarten, it’s home to us. We really look forward to rocking out at Porto Cupecoy this June and we want to let all our fans know well in advance, you want to get to this show because it’s going to be EPIC, we are going to pull out all the stops and it will be the best show of the year!”!”
